  • Overview

    Responsible for the proper and efficient operation of assigned stores, within Company Policy, in such a manner to ensure all stores contribute to the profitability of the Company.



    • Training and development of Store Managers in a manner that will result in their proper implementation of Company policies and procedures, including:
    • Recruiting, training and development of all store personnel
    • Payroll expense control
    • Communicate gasoline and merchandise pricing to ensure competitive
    • Variable expense control
    • On-time and accurate store reporting
    • Inventory shrink control
    • Store appearance and image
    • Gross profit margins
    • Adherence to all applicable federal, state and local laws
    • Implementation and maintenance of all Company marketing and merchandising programs
    • Implementation and enforcement of all Company policies and procedures in an impartial manner
    • Responsible for the security of all Company assets, including cash, merchandise, gasoline equipment and property
    • Recommendations regarding merchandising and marketing vendors; recommended product, retail pricing, merchandise layout, and programs designed to increase sales and profits
    • Conducting regular store visits to ensure proper operation of stores within Company policy guidelines
    • Assist management through all means in achieving Company goals and objectives

    • Ability to operate a Company vehicle and to drive to and between assigned District, including driving at night and staying overnight away from home
    • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing
    • Ability to do arithmetic and tabulate, transfer, compare, verify, and reconcile numbers and totals, as well as to use instruments and equipment necessary to do these activities
    • Ability to judge whether District stores, employees, vendors, sales, expenses and store operating results satisfy the policies, requirements and standards of E-Z Mart
    • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with little direct supervision, including the ability to plan and organize work
    • Ability to judge the appropriate action in response to changes or unanticipated circumstances or new problems
    • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities promptly, regularly and according to schedule, punctuality and attendance requirements
    • Ability to correctly prepare all reports, forms, and other documents necessary for the proper performance of all duties and responsibilities
    • Ability to objectively appraise and analyze the performance of others
    • Ability to plan and direct the activities of others
    • Ability to stand, sit or crouch for extended periods, to work in hot storage areas and in cold freezers, and to lift and move at least fifty (50) pounds
    • Ability to discern, anticipate, forecast, and/or effectively respond to or modify the activities and conduct of vendors and consumers in your Zone
